Computer Clean

computer

A recent study by the university of Arizona found that a telephone is contaminated with up to 25,127 germs per square inch, a keyboard 3,295 germs per sq inch and a mouse 1,676 germs per sq inch. A toilet seat on the other hand only had 49 germs per square inch!

Not a nice thought is it? Then its good to know that we at Jordan Robert Computer Clean offer a complete cleaning solution for all desk top IT equipment. By using our methods detailed below, regular cleaning can help reduce the amount of bacteria by up to 99.9%, helping to stop the spread of germs and infection around the office.

Monitor

We start by dusting off the loose dust and debris around the casings with specialist brushes and air cleaners. Then using our antibacterial, non conductive power cleaner we clean the exterior plastics of the monitor. Don’t worry - our products are powerful enough to kill germs but not so powerful they damage the item. Once the exterior has been treated, we use an anti static treatment on the screen which removes streaks, greasy finger marks, smears and dust, all of which can cause eye strain to the user, not to mention looking horrible!

Keyboard

keyboard

First thing to do with the keyboard is to give it a good shake (don't worry, they're tougher than they look). This loosens all the crumbs, dust, skin flakes (!??!?!) and debris that can accumulate underneath the keys over a period of time. Then using specialist keyboard brushes, air cleaners and sometimes for really filthy ones, a negative earthed toner vacuum, we can remove the debris. Once this is done the keyboard is cleaned using the Power cleaner to once again kill any remaining bacteria.

Mouse

How annoying is it when you move your mouse only for it to stick nowhere near where you want it to be? Most of the time people will assume its broken, throw it away, get a new one. But more than likely, its just dirty! By cleaning the inside of the mouse, the sensors and the role ball using our specialist brushes and air cleaners, it can completely eradicate the sticking issues, therefore saving the cost of a new mouse. The exterior of the mouse is also cleaned using the anti bacterial power cleaner.

CPU

This is where all the action happens! The most important tool of our working days, and where is it? Under the desk with the dust, post-it notes and dropped paper clips of course!

There are 2 stages of cleaning for the CPU unit, the first is exterior clean. The CPU is cleaned off with brushes and air cleaner, then treated with power cleaner to remove marks and those dreaded germs (yes they can even get there!). All drives are cleaned using specialist brushes, buds and if needed air cleaners before being finished with a microfibre cloth.

In addition we can also clean the interior of the machine by removing the cover and using our negative earthed Toner Vacuum. Using this we can remove all the dust that has accumulated over the years from the boards and fans. This can help your computer operate faster, prevent overheating and prolong its useful life.

Telephones

Phones are cleaned by using brushes and air cleaners to remove visible dirt, then the anti bacterial power cleaner is applied, paying particular attention to the mouth and ear piece to ensure the most is made of the Power Cleaner.

Once all the items have been cleaned and treated they are then buffed to a finish with a microfibre cloth. They are now looking good as new and most importantly up to 99.9% germ free!

OTHER BENEFITS

So as well as the obvious health and safety benefits of regular IT cleaning, it can also boost staff morale - it's the same as when you clean your car... You just want to use it all the time! Also it helps create a good impression for any visiting clients or potential new recruits to the team.

So there we have it - regular cleaning of your office IT equipment can:
